PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Operations Manager Isthmus Sailboards Hood River Fall 2006 – 2008

• Controlled all the product purchasing and sales for the windsurfing pro shop.

• Responsible for all the point of-sale systems and daily financials.

• Coordinated all the hiring, wages and schedules for the staff.

• Worked directly with the vendors to help promote individual brands and build stronger images.

• Created, designed, developed, sourced and managed the production of masts, bags, and booms for the store brand Fast Forward composites. (Purchased in 2006 from Ale’ Design Inc.)

• Designed and produced full-color full page adds for trade and industry magazines.

• Assisted in decisions, marketing and sales strategies for the North American distribution of RRD Sailboards. Distributed by Isthmus Sailboards Inc.

Manager & buyer of Stormwarning Hood River 2005 - 2006

• Controlled all the product purchasing and sales for the wind, kite and snow shop.

• Responsible for all systems and daily financials.

• Coordinated all the hiring, wages and schedules for the staff.

Director of K2 Footwear R&D K2 USA 1998 – 2004

• Invented, established and directed K2 Footwear, a line with over 75 models of hikers, casual and Men’s and Women’s fashion shoes and sandals.

• Established and managed the engineering, created all designs, developed new technologies, and coordinated all product testing.

• Controlled the production and sourcing for K2 Footwear in China, Vietnam and Indonesia.

• Implemented and managed a Taiwan-branch office and a four-person quality control team.

• Designed the initial two lines and managed the JJ line of high end women’s fashion sandals and shoes in Europe for K2

• Worked extensively with the buyers and the market leaders to develop a strong marketing and sales programs-tripling sales and growth in two years.

Senior Designer K2 R&D K2 USA 1996 - 1998

• Worked in design & development of new innovative products for K2 Sports including: inline skates, ice skates, mountain bikes, hydration packs, inline protection gear, hockey skates, ski boots, outerwear and sunglasses.

• Created and orchestrated the initial launch and all sourcing of Audio footwear.

• Coordinated and managed the correction of various production problems for snowboard boots, inline skates, backpacks, bikes and snowboard bindings.

Production and Development Manager Snowboards K2 USA 1993 - 1996

• Started, designed, developed and managed the production of K2 Snowboard boots in South Korea.

• Researched and developed the Clicker snowboard boot binding system with Shimano.

• Designed and tested snowboard bindings.

Entrepreneurial ventures

• Currently a successful full time artist selling contemporary metal sculpture in galleries throughout the Northwest. Sculpture designs as well as the fabrication are all done by me.

• Started, designed and sourced Fast Forward Composites. Windsurfing carbon rigging high-end products sourced from Italy and Taiwan.

• Founded Dobbiaco cycles, and carried out all design, sourcing and production.

• Designed advertising, web pages, catalogs and all marketing for Dobbiaco Cycles

• .Created a (grass roots marketing plan) and implemented it for Dobbiaco Cycles, that brought a 100% growth rate for three years straight.

• Imported, marketed and controlled all the sales and growth for the Italian brand

• Successfully designed, produced, marketed and managed my own line of winter apparel (Odd Man Out) Sold to Rose City Textile in 1996.

Freelance work

• Developed and designed the initial line of hydration packs for Polar Design Inc.

• Designed graphics and decal kits for Dobbiaco Cycles, PMG manufacturing and Colorado Cyclist road bike frames.

• Designed the graphics for the team apparel for Dobbiaco Cycles, Marco Polo World Cycling Team, Lost River Cycling, Brian's Pro Bike, PMG and Colorado Cyclist.

• Consulted on design and product testing for Spinergy and Precision Manufacture Group.
